Your role and responsibilities Must be skilled and show expert proficiency on all respective manufacturing processes Role models and supports a culture that holds team members accountable for adhering to their training and development schedule per the training matrix Routinely shares observations with Supervisor to improve individual and team capability Manages training processes for manufacturing team members by developing training content and facilitating focused on the job training to ensure team members can perform job functions to meet or exceed ABB standards on Safety, Quality and Operations Must engage and interact with others using the ABB Values Partners with Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), Production Supervision, Manufacturing Engineering, and the Quality team to ensure training criteria, materials and best practices meet or exceed all ISO requirements and all company, state, and federal laws Acts and works safely; encourages safe practices and holds others accountable for safety Coordinate and demonstrate training with team members who are new in their position to ensure skills are obtained in a timely manner Work with Supervisor, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Engineering and Human Resources to ensure all training materials and work instructions are consistently up to date on processes and product specifications Develop and initiate improvements and assessments for existing training content and implementation of new training measures Serves as subject matter experts for completion of Job Specific Training (JST) documentation for the GROW Model Partners with the Production Supervisor for updates and future planning for the Department Training Matrix based on departmental training needs and headcount Provides feedback to the Production Supervisor on team member capability, performance, and knowledge retention Communicates professionally with team members regularly regarding training performance, expectations, development needs, strengths, and areas of focus Understands alarm system and emergency procedures within the department Engages team members to understand the work environment, train on specific tasks, develop trouble shooting expertise and/or provide coaching Seeks to develop her/himself - continual learning Develops relationships to promote teamwork between Teams and other organizations Effectively plans and organizes own work and the training of others, as needed Role models a high work ethic and expects the same from team members Roles models an employee in good standing with exceptional attendance and limited disciplinary history Exhibits an approach to daily routines which is consistent from day to day to promote operational discipline and effective operations Manufacturing plant environment sometimes requiring extended periods of walking, standing, sitting and extensive use of a computer or phone Position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about office locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of 10-40 pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp and type for prolonged periods of time; visual acuity to use a keyboard, computer monitor, operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time
Qualifications for the role - High School Diploma or GED Required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing
- Must be skilled and show expert proficiency on all respective manufacturing processes
- Work effectively with limited supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be self-motivated with a high level of engagement
- Adept problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate with multiple departments and work teams
- Experience in dealing with the cultural diversity of a global business environment
- Prior Experience in Manufacturing as a Trainer a plus
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the United States
