Job Description
A Senior Network Analyst is the primary escalation point for the Managed Services practice at Omada Technologies. The Sr. Network Analyst must have excellent communication and inter- personal skills, being strongly focused on customer service. The Network Analyst must also have a strong sense of their own abilities as well as when they require outside help on troubleshooting an issue. She/He/They will be expected to work well as part of a team to interact appropriately with the Sales, Engineering, and Operations team but must also work exceptionally well on Her/His/Their own during the course of troubleshooting a customer issue.
The Sr. Network Analyst has a strong understanding of data networking and can learn new products and/or operating systems without outside help or training. She/He/They will be able to communicate effectively over email, web meetings, phone, and in-person with other team members, as well as customers and technology partners. She/He/They will also be expected to continue their training/education continuously and maintain industry and product-specific certifications.
Network Analysts at Omada Technologies will spend their time approximately as follows:
• 50% on answering customer configuration/troubleshooting tickets
• 20% assisting engineering with project-based tasks
• 15% will be continuing education/training/certifications
• 10% on personal areas of interest
• 5% on other administrative tasks
Required skills or knowledge in addition to those listed above:
• Strong understanding of the OSI network model
• Strong knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 switching, and routing
• Strong knowledge of network security principles
• Very good understanding of wireless technologies
• 5+ years of experience and/or education in the field
Additional skills or knowledge that are helpful, but not required:
• In-depth knowledge of WLAN technologies, including physics of RF propagation and
familiarity with all 802.11 amendments
• Scripting knowledge, particularly with Python
• Understanding of APIs and how to interact with them
• Knowledge of specific products, including Aruba (a Hewlett Packard Enterprise
company), Juniper Networks, Arista Networks, Palo Alto Networks, Splunk, Infoblox, Exabeam, Crowdstrike, Amazon AWS, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform
