We are seeking an expert Engineering Program Manager to drive software release management and release quality for the Private Cloud Compute software that powers Apple Intelligence.
Description
Drive processes and best practices to develop, build, qualify, and release high-quality software to internal and external audiences
Manage and communicate program/release schedules with clear dependencies, driving alignment across the organization
Drive on-time development and delivery, establishing checkpoints, and re-planning as events warrant
Identify release blockers, work with teams to deliver timely resolutions, and manage the overall change control processes
Provide clear, timely and objective communication, including updates on program status and critical issues to executive team
This is not a task-based job; you are accountable for delivering successful outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of technical program/project management for software or software/hardware products
- Have personally orchestrated the delivery of multiple significant client/server software products, under demanding timelines, running multiple work streams cross functionally across a large organization
- Detailed understanding of testing/qualification, build and release processes for sophisticated software
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, written and verbal, to all levels of an organization
- Strong analytical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills
Key Qualifications
- Detailed understanding of Apple’s processes for operating system software planning, development, build & integration, qualification, and release
- Ability to facilitate and drive technical discussions: requirements definition, architecture/design, design tradeoffs, issue resolution, tracking/progress check-ins
- Technical proficiency: cloud architecture, development and deployment, databases, build & release systems, and bonus points for past programming experience

Education & Experience

Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $165,500 and $293,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
