Position Summary This position will primarily support inspection tasks associated with mechanical inspection efforts and will also support other inspection areas within the business unit. The ideal candidate will be familiar with dimensional inspection operations and typical mechanical assembly inspection practices. This position is part of an inspection team that reports to the Quality Assurance Supervisor.

Duties & Responsibilities SOME OF YOUR MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
• Performing dimensional inspection on in-process or finished flight items using CMM (Wenzel) utilizing OpenDMIS (or PC-DMIS) software. Training to operate the Wenzel specific software will be provided by the company as needed.
• Performing inspection using FaroArm, using Polyworks (or CAM2) software. Training to operate the Faro Arm specific software will be provided by the company as needed.
• All fabrication is performed on controlled work authorization documents. Any deviation from applicable drawings, standards, and/or specifications to be documented on nonconformance report.
• Communicating effectively with management, quality engineers and shop personnel to keep the production flowing, identify issues and resolve bottlenecks. Supporting continuous improvement efforts of the company.
• Creating inspection reports to document actual values against drawing annotations and notes in accordance with company approved plans and procedures. When needed, initiates reject tags, discrepancy reports, and inspection reports.
• Ensuring procured articles and materials have been inspected and tested by the supplier in accordance with purchase requirements and are accompanied with required Certificates of Compliance and/or test data reports.
• Performing visual/or dimensional inspection of raw materials, mechanical/or electronic parts to ensure conformance with the latest drawings, specifications, and methods planning documents such as Tables of Operations (T.O.s), Production Identification Documents (PIDs), and Test Preparation Sheets (TPSs).
• Supporting Government DCMA representative and Customer Source Inspector in the evaluation and performance of GMIPs prior to progressing or allowing work to progress Quality Assurance Supervisor.
• Performing step-by-step witnessing of critical assemblies and tests and follows established methods and procedures of rejecting and dispositioning non-conforming hardware.
• Completing training to support workmanship requirements used in the assembly of electrical and electronic products and maintaining certifications.
• Identifying appropriate inspection tooling and performing inspection with calibrated assets
Qualifications REQUIRED
• Five (5) + years' experience in aerospace processing environment, with emphasis on dimensional inspection.
• Experience in utilizing/programming Coordinate Measuring Machine and/or FARO Arm to perform dimensional inspection on in-process or finished flight items.
• Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of CMM Programming fundamentals.
• Highly proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical engineering drawings & blueprints.
• Working knowledge of GD&T requirements per ASME Y14.5.
• Experience measuring and/or inspecting lengths, diameters, straightness, true position, runout, flatness, etc.
• Proficient knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001, or other defined quality standard requirements.
PREFERRED
• Familiarization with common NASA/JSC PRC Process Specifications.
• Experience processing NASA Flight Hardware.
• Familiarization with the NASA / IPC Workmanship specifications.
• Technical Certification and/or degree in a related field.
• Experience in utilization of 3D Laser Scanning inspection methods.
