Job Description

Our client is a collective of entrepreneurial seafood experts specializing in premium seafood products. Together they deliver exceptional products through a teamdriven approach to sales production and operations. They are seeking a Quality Assurance / Controls Manager to lead their quality assurance and food safety efforts in their seafood processing operations. This is a pivotal role ensuring the highest standards of product quality and regulatory compliance contributing directly to the companys continued success.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations customer requirements and thirdparty standards.
  • Develop implement and maintain robust Food Safety and Quality Control programs including FDA USDA (HACCP) NOAA MRAG (MSC) and State of Alaska Food Safety and Sanitation protocols.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections audits and mock recalls to ensure readiness and traceability compliance.
  • Host and coordinate thirdparty audits and customer visits.
  • Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) throughout production identifying vulnerabilities and implementing corrective measures.
  • Prepare reports to communicate quality assurance findings to production teams and management.
  • Provide training across departments on regulatory policies company standards and food safety protocols.
  • Supervise and mentor quality assurance staff to uphold company standards ensure accuracy in metrics and maintain accountability.
  • Perform root cause analyses and implement changes to prevent recurrence of quality issues.
  • Inspect equipment monitor production processes and take samples to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with corporate QC and sales representatives to support facility operations.
  • Spend significant time on the processing floor and travel seasonally between facilities in Washington and Alaska.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of quality control experience in seafood processing with expertise in groundfish shellfish and salmon.
  • Certifications and indepth knowledge of HACCP Food Safety Quality SQF and GFSI standards.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing food safety and quality control programs.
  • Proficiency with office applications and the ability to quickly learn new software and systems.
  • Strong leadership skills with a detailoriented approach to tasks and problemsolving.
  • Willingness to travel and work onsite in production facilities during peak seasons.
