Primary Job Function: To inspect, test, dismantle and perform electrical and mechanical repair to process equipment, plant utility equipment and power distribution system. Perform ISO calibration procedures to load cells, temperature controllers pneumatic and hydraulic indicator gauges, and electronic timers. Perform standard preventative maintenance on all plant equipment.
Job Responsibilities: - Determines and obtains parts, materials, and tools required and carries to work site.
- Fills out requisitions, time cards, completes work orders, etc.
- Diagnoses complex electrical problems.
- Performs complex electrical tasks – includes dismantle, clean, paint, repair, fabricate, assemble, etc.: shop function, equipment breakdown, equipment preventive maintenance, facility breakdown, facility preventive maintenance.
- Interprets manufacturer wiring diagrams, schematics, manuals, blueprints, layouts, etc.
- Performs in-depth troubleshooting and analysis of ac vector drives and dc drive systems and electrical control Systems.
- Performs ISO calibrations.
- Sets up, changes parts and valves, and adjusts natural gas burners on drying equipment.
- Inspects equipment for electrical function, misalignment, wear, lubrication, etc.
- Adjusts equipment to proper specifications/tolerance.
- Runs conduit and pulls wire.
- Replaces light bulbs – burn outs and scheduled replacement.
- Wires/installs/assembles new equipment.
- Disconnects electrical components/dismantles/skids equipment for storage or relocation.
- Installs/wires relocated equipment.
- Erects scaffolds and rigging.
- Operates powered equipment – pallet jacks, lift trucks, personnel lifts, etc.
- Participates in on-site and off-site training as offered.
- Performs all work per safety/personal protection/equipment lockout procure/etc.
- Disposes of waste/old parts/packaging/etc. per plant environmental & recycling procedures.
- Maintains shop area housekeeping.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Mandatory requirements: Must have high school diploma or GED. Must have had experience of an electrician or equivalent position with previous experience in industrial electrical repair and troubleshooting. Must have a valid Industrial Electrical Certificate 1 (Journeyman's card may suffice with appropriate experience).
Shifts: 2nd (4:00pm-12:00am) and 3rd (12:00am - 8:00am).
Limited weekend work is required only as necessary.
