We are seeking a motivated, hard-working individual to assist our claims analysis team. Successful internship candidates will demonstrate a strong ability to organize data, synthesize written information, and creatively collaborate with their colleagues throughout the process of reducing medical costs for our clients. The Claims Analysis Intern must be prepared to integrate information from healthcare plans, medical billing law, and financial assistance policies. Familiarity with healthcare billing and proficiency in Excel is preferred, but all candidates should be prepared to learn new relevant skills throughout the internship period. The ideal candidate would work full-time and in-person during in the summer and then continue with Highlight Health on a part-time and remote basis during the academic year. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Intake new health insurance claims 

• Acquire and organize additional data required for the analysis 

• Analyze the claim, using claim analysis templates 

• Help Highlight Health improve the claims intake process 

Requirements

• Meticulous attention to detail 

• People with biology or medical coursework are preferred 

• Some understanding of health insurance claims preferred 

• Experienced and proficient in using Microsoft Excel preferred 

• Organizational and time-management skills 

• Analytical abilities 

• Interpersonal skills 

• Aptitude with computer systems and learning new systems and procedures 

Benefits

• Salary Range: $25/hour. 

• Full Time Summer Internship (40 hours per week in office)

• Part Time Academic Year Internship: 20 hours per week (can be remote)
